Time moves slower in New York City, Amid the rushing crowd, in those moments you can see The faces of a hundred people in a single breath. Here, amid so much life, here you feel so far from death. Here among a thousand souls all like yours, caught up in life's restless gale, Here where, if you attention pay, each may stop to tell you a tale: A tale of victory or a tale of strife, A story about this moment in their life, Told by the expression on their face, Or the pace of their walk, but each a tale full of grace. So I walk not too slow, reminded that each life holds a universe within, Reminded that to ignore beauty presented before you is a sin, Reminded of how thankful I am to witness before me a city like this unfurled, This city in a rush to become the world, Reminded how beautiful it is just to roam Through a city that promises all mankind a home.
